Installation

In Venice, a number of examples of reprogramming the world will be materialized simultaneously.

- First, there will be a 1:1 scale replica of a floor of an apartment building with shared spaces being constructed in Gandia (Valencia), from the Sociopolis Sharing Tower, an example of the functional reorganization of the domestic space based on the principles of sharing intrinsic to the Internet. See: http://www.guallart.com/01projects/sociopolistower/default.htm
- The entire installation has been produced by architects at IaaC, effectively promoting the local fabrication of goods using advanced machines in accordance with the principles of the FabLab programme of the MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms
- All of the objects in the house will have an Internet 0 node—thus constituting the largest network of micro servers assembled to date—with which they will directly interrelate with one another just as neurons do in the brain. See : http://cba.mit.edu/projects/I0/
- The installation will make visible the multiscalar relations between each object and those on a higher scale (from the scale of an individual to that of our whole planet of ten billion people), and display the line codes that visitors will be encouraged to propose. See: http://www.iaacblog.com/hyperhabitat/
- The installation will have an Internet platform where people are invited to submit proposals for reprogramming the world by means of ‘line codes’ that shows how relating things in different ways can result in urban systems that consume less energy and actively facilitate social interaction (www.hyperhabitat.net).

Together this will constitute a multidimensional installation that will play an active part in the Venice Biennale, understood as a platform for disseminating new ideas and fostering innovation in architecture.
